Consideration. 

When placing an order, please consider that these blankets are personalized and handmade. These are one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to your needs. This is a craft that is done solely by hands. The attention of the craft is focused on your order. 

¿What is crochet? 

Crochet is a needlework technique that creates fabric by interlocking loops of yarn using a needle-like hook. Not to be confused with knitting with two needles.

  • Important Note: Filling out the form does not guarantee that juanito will make an order immediately. There may be orders ahead of you. 

  • juanito will reach out to everyone that fills out this form to give you an approximate time of when your order will be completed. 

  • Please be prepared to make a $40 deposit fee, non-refundable. 

  • Pay the balance of $60 when the order is complete.

  • Price: $100 per blanket ($40 deposit fee: materials/booking + $60 labor).

How to order: 

  • Pick your colors: Three-Color Maximum. See Order Form for color selections. 

  • Pick one pattern: See Order Form for pattern selections. 

Blanket Details: ​

  • Approximate Size: 40” by 40” 

  • Yarn: 100% Acrylic, #4 (Medium), I-9 (5.5mm) Hook

  • Once your order is confirmed, please allow 2-3 weeks for your order to be ready and another 2-3 days if your blanket is being shipped.

  • Balance will be requested upon completion of the piece.

  • Price: $100 per blanket

    • $40 deposit fee: materials/booking + $60 labor 

    • Shipping Fee, if mailed: +$8 

    • Cash, Apple Pay, Zelle, Venmo/PayPal/Cash App: hwahneetoh

    • Important Note:  Any order that does not fall within these parameters will be considered custom made. Custom made orders require additional time and labor and the price will increase. 

Transparency

For transparency reasons, I’d like to explain the price breakdown.

  • Each ball of yarn is approximately $4.

  • It takes about five (5) balls of yarn to complete an order.

  • Added, the resources used to obtain the yarn can be up to $5.

  • Subtracting the approximate cost of materials ($25) from the total price of the blanket ($100); 

  • The remaining $75 is what would compensate my labor, time, and energy.

  • It can take me around seven (7) to ten (10) hours to complete an order. This includes the designing of the blanket. Each blanket is personalized.

  • From a capitalist perspective, my cost of labor per hour could be anything between $7.50 to $10.70 per hour. 

  • ​Note: I live in California and the minimum wage here is $13 per hour. The federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. 

Con Cariño Care Tips: 

  • Hand wash with your favorite soap.

  • Dry by laying the blanket/piece flat (on a towel).

  • Do not stretch.

  • Keep out of direct sunlight.

  • Handle with lots of care and love.

  • Remember: It is handmade.

These "care tips" come from femme and elder knowledge passed down to me by my mother, tias, and grandmother. A lot of the yarns I work with call for the created pieces to be "machine washed and dried." ​
